School Psychological Services
Hampton Township School District’s school psychology team supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success. School psychologists collaborate with administrators, educators, families, and other professionals to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Psychological services are provided as part of the District’s Comprehensive Student Services Plan (Chapter 12) and are integrated within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
How School Psychologists Support Students
School psychologists use a data-informed, problem-solving approach to help identify student strengths, understand learning or behavioral needs, and support effective instructional and intervention planning. Services may include:
-
Reviewing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional data
-
Consulting with teachers and families to identify effective strategies
-
Supporting the implementation of research-based interventions
-
Assisting with behavior support planning
-
Supporting students individually or in small groups when appropriate
The goal of psychological services is to support student success by matching student needs with appropriate supports.
Evaluation and Eligibility Services
The District Psychologist, School Psychologists, and school psychology interns conduct comprehensive evaluations to help determine eligibility for special education and related services, gifted education, or other supports, as required by state and federal guidelines.
Evaluations are conducted with parent/guardian involvement and are used to inform educational planning and decision-making.
Collaboration and Team Involvement
School psychologists are active members of building and district teams, including:
-
MTSS and data teams
-
Intervention planning and child study teams
-
