HHS and Simcoach Games collaborate to playtest life skills games

Simcoach Games teamed up with Hampton High School on Jan. 24 to playtest their life skills and independent living transition games with our high school students and parents in our new Flex Studio!

Games focused on independent transportation strategies, work skills to gain financial independence, and executive functions such as decision making, preparedness, and time management. From this session, Simcoach was looking to understand “in the moment” feedback and suggestions for these games. This process of incorporating player and parent feedback serves a critical role to delivering the best, most engaging, and enjoyable immersive technology experiences while the students learn valuable life skills.

For students in grades 11-12 interested in a career in game design, game production, or technical fields where creativity, teamwork, and technical skills are required, Simcoach offers the Games for Youth by Youth Summer Apprenticeship Program. This paid six-week program will begin on June 12, 2023, in a location near their location in the Southside of Pittsburgh.
