Girls Volleyball, Boys Soccer advance to PIAA Championships

The Hampton girls volleyball and boys soccer teams advanced to the PIAA championship this upcoming weekend.

The Hampton girls volleyball team moved on to the PIAA Class 3A championship for the first time in school history with a 3-1 victory over Freeport. The Talbots lost the first set, 25-17, but rallied to win three in a row by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-16. The Talbots advance to play District 3 champion Spring Grove in the PIAA finals at 3:30 PM Saturday at Cumberland Valley.

Also, the Hampton boys soccer team defeated West Allegheny, 2-1, after eight thrilling rounds of penalties. Seeking their first PIAA championship since 2010, the Talbots will play Archbishop Wood at 6:30 PM on Saturday for the state title at Hersheypark Stadium.
